University Decides on Baughan

Matt Baughan has been officially named the head coach of the Cornell golf team after spending the past seven months in that role on an interim basis.

Baughan, a 1993 graduate of the University of Alabama, also takes on the post of head golf professional at the Robert Trent Jones Course.

He was a professional player from 1994 to 1997 on the Moonlight Golf Tour, winning the Pine Barons at World Woods tournaments in both October and December of 1995.

Baughan had served as an assistant at the course since 1997, after he arrived there from the Persimmon Hill Golf Course in Tampa, Fla., where he worked in 1996 and 1997. He was also an assistant golf pro at Laurel View Country Club in Hamden, Conn. in 1994.
