ILR Leaders Join OSVS on Service Work

A handful of students from the School of Industrial Labor and Relations student body and ILR Student Government Association (SGA) gathered yesterday afternoon to offer their services at the Crossroads International House (CIH).

Located at the corner of Stewart Avenue and Buffalo Street — and established under the larger Crossroads Life Center Organization — the CIH is a faith-based hospitality center that provides hospitality and resource services to international students and families. In their efforts to provide a smooth transition into American culture, CIH offers a variety of resources to their clients which include social, cultural, academic and spiritual assistance and services.

“[Our goals involve] building bridges between their former communities and the U.S.,” says Mark Chandler, director of the Crossroads Life Center.

ILR students arrived around noon for an afternoon of volunteer work that included raking leaves, landscaping, setting-up holiday decorations in the international house and some pre-construction procedures for the Carriage House Caf
