Women's Hockey Set To Face Mercyhurst

The women’s hockey team battles against Mercyhurst in Erie, Penn. this Thanksgiving weekend. The four hour road trip will be the Red’s first.

Cornell comes off of a 1-1 split with Findlay last Saturday and Sunday.

The Red’s offense awoke over the weekend, breaking its four game scoreless streak to help Cornell beat the Oilers 3-0 on Saturday. On Sunday, Findlay narrowly topped the Red 2-1.

The games saw senior Jenel Bode and junior Lindsay Murao both turn in excellent performances.

Bode had two goals on Saturday and an assist on Sunday. Murao tallied up a goal and an assist in Saturday’s game, and contributed the Red’s lone goal on Sunday.

The Red’s defense and junior goalie Liz Connelly both sparkled. They shut down almost everything Findlay could throw at them, holding Findlay to only two goals on the weekend.

Connelly stopped 33 shots on her way to her third career shut out on Saturday.
