Cornell Earns 1-1 Tie With Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Junior Matt McRae found the back of Yale goalie Dan Lombard’s net 25 seconds into the game for the men’s hockey team but no one on Cornell could equal that feat in the ensuing 64:35 as the Red skated to a 1-1 tie against the Bulldogs here on Friday evening.

For the third consecutive weekend Cornell (6-2-1, 3-1-1 ECAC) was on the road, this time at Ingalls Rink to face a streaky Yale team with a deceptive 2-4-1 overall and 2-3-2 conference record. The Elis lived up to that reputation Friday night as they were able to rebound from a loss to Princeton the weekend before.

Although Yale won the initial faceoff of the game, the Cornell defense was able to recover the puck in its own zone. Junior captain Stephen B
