W. Tennis Hosts Cornell Invitational

Success for the women’s tennis team was proven very attainable this weekend as the Red hosted the Cornell Invitational, which included competition from Syracuse and Colgate.

The Reis Tennis Center was home to a number of exciting matches, including some fantastic singles matches on Saturday.

Nine out of 10 women on the Red won at least one of their singles matches with many of them winning two.

Junior Laura Tallent had a great weekend after moving up to first spot on the team. Tallent’s excitement on the court will bode well for the Red. She proved this weekend that she will help lead Cornell throughout the season.

As the Red gears up for the rest of its fall season, it will look to the optimistic results from the invitational. Head coach Tom Brownlie ’98 expressed enthusiasm about his team’s play this weekend.
