LeNeveu Wins Silver at World Jrs.

Sophomore goalie David LeNeveu wore a red and white jersey over Winter Break, just like his men’s hockey teammates. However, his sweater was that of the Canadian junior national team, which competed in the World Junior National Championships in Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.

“It’s the Super Bowl in Canada for kids that age,” said Red head coach Mike Schafer ’86. “It’s a great experience. It’s a learning experience to have to deal with that kind of media and pressure.”

LeNeveu was up against stiff competition for the two goaltender spots on the team, as four goalies were in the tryout camp at Halifax. In addition to LeNeveu, there were Cam Ward and Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers, both 2002 NHL draftees, and Marc-Andr
