The women’s tennis team is looking to continue its strong start heading into this weekend’s home matches with Temple and Cincinnati.

Head coach Laura Glitz, a former All-American at Arizona State and USPTA National No. 1 in 1994, has high expectations for this weekend’s matches.

“We really should win both of these matches,” Glitz said.

She stated that the team has played very well all year, with the exception of last Sunday’s match against Syracuse.

The Red are currently sitting on a 3-1 record, coming off a tough 5-2 road loss at Syracuse. It was the team’s first loss of the spring season – the team had beaten Quinnipiac, UMass, and Army to start the season nicely.

“Against Army last Saturday [a 6-1 victory], especially, we had a great team performance overall and from each player,” Glitz said.

However, the team did not fare so well in its next outing against the Orange.

“We didn’t play well at all against Syracuse,” Glitz said. “I think that was just a little blip for us
