The 2006 Convocation ceremony has been moved to Schoellkopf Stadium in order to fit the senior class and their guests, according to Jon Bellante ’06, chairman of the Convocation Committee.

“I would first like to thank you for your overwhelmingly positive reaction to this year’s Convocation Ceremony,” he wrote in an e-mail to be sent to the senior class today. “The Convocation Committee has been amazed by the tremendous response we have received and have been particularly saddened by our inability to accommodate the entire graduating class and their guests due to the Barton Hall location.”

The date and time for the event is still Saturday, May 27, 2006 at noon. Seating will be on the Crescent side of the field and is open to all Cornellians. In case of inclement weather, Bellante wrote, the event will be moved back to Barton Hall.

Martin Luther King III, son of the late civil rights leader, is scheduled to give the convocation speech.
