Spring Fashion

Some absolutely fab new spring finds are out this season and are mandatory for the closet of the fashion saavy. This season light, natural and chic are in (no more of the overly layered BoHo) so make sure to hit the stores and stock up on a couple essentials. Lately, there have been some strange looks gallivanting around campus (did anyone see the guy with the hot dog hat?) and so here are a few items that are sure to turn heads, in a good way.

We simply love C&C California’s brand new stripe tube dress. It comes in tons of different colors and is perfect for any spring or summer day. Dress it up with a pair of stilettos and jewelry for a night on the town or down with flip flops and a beach bag. If you’re wary of stripes, have no fear. The pattern of this dress is designed to flatter almost any figure without making you look twice as wide.

If you’re dying to have a mini skirt, try the trendy Tulip. It gives the traditional mini a new spin with a full ruffled bottom. Buyers beware: Try on this skirt because its design can add a little too much oomph to your hips. For a more universally flattering skirt, go for Lacoste’s brand new tiered pique. It’s very wearable with anything from a tube top to a polo and washes just like your favorite Lacoste shirts. Steer clear of the orange one unless you’ve built up an impressive tan. Orange is the ultimate in washing the under-sunned out.

Gap, traditionally simple in design, has come out with a great twist on the typical peacoat. Their new spring style incorporates the classic peacoat look without being overly bulky. The oversize buttons and waist length cut make it a chic accent for any outfit on a chilly day. Pair it with jeans or a skirt for a rocking spring look.

For the guys, might we recommend one of Abercrombie’s wide striped polos. They come in tons of colors, so you’re bound to find one you like. Plus, the wide striped pattern gives you a preppy look without being overly busy. Wear it with nice jeans and leather flip flops to finish the look. Whether or not you’re a fan of the popped collar, this polo will give you the clean, chic style we all love.

The crowning glory of this season’s spring bags is hands down Cole Haan’s G Rope Collection. It combines natural with nautical in a way that absolutely wows us. The purse is made of natural nubuck accented with sailing ropes and nautical clasps gilded in gold. It’s gorgeous. You can wear it for a day out on the beach, dinner on the boardwalk or a day of boating with friends. It’s pricey, we know, but well worth the investment.
