Before you take another bite . . . stop, think, and ask yourself a few questions. So encourages Dr. Brian Wansink (Dept. of Applied Economics and Management) with his newest book, Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think (Bantam, October 2006). Reporting on the results of recent studies, the book explores the effects of different marketing “tricks” on the volume of food people consume. On Thursday, November 16 at 3pm, Dr. Wansink will give a “Chats in the Stacks” book talk on the 2nd floor of Mann Library. Please join us for a discussion that is guaranteed to be stimulating to your brain cells and to your appetite for healthier food consumption choices. Healthy snacks, in moderate volumes, will be served—after all, this is the guy responsible for the 100 calorie packs! Free and open to the public.
