February 10 (Saturday)-February 11 (Sunday): The Cornell Middle Eastern Events Committee Presents ‘Yalla! A 2-Day Middle Eastern Fusion Dance Festival’ at Appel Commons; Cornell University; Ithaca, NY. The workshops start at 11:00 AM featuring Tribal Fusion and Improvisation to Live Music Workshops by Sera, a tribal fusion bellydancer, and Carmine Guida with his band Djinn, who mixes Middle Eastern music with contemporary beatboxing. An evening performance will take place at the Johnson Museum featuring Sera, Djinn, Teszia Bellydance, The Cornell Middle Eastern Music Ensemble and local performers at 7:00. Price of workshop underwritten by CU departments: $10/workshop (students), $20/workshop (non-students) or $15/all day for students and $35/all day for non-students.
