A former Brown University professor who was denied tenure in 1993 will receive about $1.3 million from the University after the state Supreme Court ruled in his favor Monday, ending a decade-long legal battle over the circumstances of his denial of tenure, the Brown Daily Herald reported yesterday.

The Columbia Spectator reported at least four Columbia College first-years are under investigation after Mark Modesitt, president of the Columbia College class of 2010, received a death threat penned in permanent marker on the door of his John Jay single last Monday.

The Harvard Crimson reported that The National Collegiate Athletic Association clarified its warning about athlete participation in Facebook pools yesterday, saying that the NCAA did not yet have an official policy regarding the ubiquitous social networking site.
