One week after Yale’s Dean of Student Affairs Betty Trachtenberg announced a ban on stage weapons in light of the recent shootings at Virginia Tech, a group of administrators at the University reversed the decision. Trachtenberg had originally told a group of students that realistic stage weapons would no longer be allowed in on-campus theatrical productions, but concerns that the policy would inhibit free speech led to the reversal over the weekend, according to the Yale Daily News.

Jeffrey R. Knowles has retired from his position as dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard, according to the Harvard Crimson. David Pilbeam, a senior advisor to the dean of Harvard College, will replace Knowles, who stepped down in order to recover from complications due to prostate cancer.

The average annual salary of full-time tenured professors at Princeton dropped from third to fourth in national rankings this year, according to The Daily Princetonian. The American Association of University Professors reported that Princeton professors take home an average of $163,700 a year, ranking the University behind Rockefeller University, Harvard University and Stanford University.
