Senior co-captains Matt McMonagle and Mitch Belisle have been named finalists for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. The two are among 10 finalists for the honor that will be named on May 26 at the NCAA Lacrosse semifinals.
In addition to being named a finalist, McMonagle won Ivy League Player of the Week for his efforts last weekend against the Princeton Tigers. McMonagle tied for a career-high 19 saves and only allowed six goals that earned the Red an automatic NCAA bd.
Former Red men’s lacrosse coach Richie Moran will be inducted into the Nassau County Sports Hall of Fame on April 30 after leading the Red to three NCAA Championship titles in the 1970s.
