A Trumansburg man apparently fell off the roof of a four-story apartment building in Lower Collegetown over the weekend.
The man, later identified as Benjamin Carver, remains in stable condition, the Ithaca Journal reported.
Around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, employees of ABC Café found the 22-year-old man in an alleyway behind the building, according to the Ithaca Police Department. Carver was injured but conscious at that time; emergency officials transported him to Arnot-Ogden Medical Center in Elmira.
“Information received at the scene, along with physical evidence, indicated the likelihood that the victim fell from the roof of the building, four stories above,” the Ithaca police stated in a report.
The apartment building, 400 Stewart Avenue, is also the location of the Chapter House bar.
Building management declined to press charges for trespassing, but indicated that Carver was not given permission to be on the roof, according to the Ithaca Journal.
