Tennis Continues Ancient Eight Campaign Against Competitive Harvard, Dartmouth

The men’s and women’s tennis teams are back in action this weekend after facing Columbia last Saturday. The men’s team dropped their Ivy opener against Columbia, 3-4, while the women thrashed the Lions, 6-1.
The men’s team continues its road stint, heading north to Dartmouth on Saturday. The Green are returning from a tough sojourn in California. The team lost all of its matches except for its final match against UC San Diego.
Saturday’s match will be Dartmouth’s Ivy opener; the Green finished with a losing record in the preseason. In the Cornell and Dartmouth’s last matchup, the Red came out victorious in a tight match, 4-3. This weekend’s matchup should be similar.

The Red will then head down the eastern seaboard to Cambridge to face the Crimson. Harvard has had a mixed preseason. The Crimson is also returning from California, taking three straight losses.
The women’s team thrashed the Lions last weekend, 6-1. The team had been on a losing skid for much of the preseason but added to the win column in their Ivy opener. The Green has had a mixed preseason but will be a tough test for the Red.
The Red will finish the weekend against the Crimson on Sunday. Harvard has had a successful preseason since the ECAC indoor championships. At championships Harvard decimated Cornell, 6-1. This weekend’s matchup may show if the Red has grown since its last meeting with the Crimson.
