The No. 6 Cornell wrestlers will take on No. 8 Lehigh tonight at 7 p.m. in Newman Arena for the start of a big weekend for wrestling in Ithaca. After tonight’s dual meet, Cornell will host 18 schools for the New York State Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships, which will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Between Cornell and Lehigh, 13 wrestlers are ranked in the top-25 in their weight classes. Cornell is just 3-3 in dual meets, but finished sixth at the NWCA National Duals on Jan. 9 and 10 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Additionally, senior Troy Nickerson, reigning NCAA champion at 125 pounds, is expected to wrestle after suffering a shoulder injury in the finals of the Southern Scuffle.

The Mountain Hawks won dual meets against Navy and West Virginia last weekend. This will be the first matchup between Lehigh and Cornell since 2007.
