Harsh Gosalia M.Eng. ’11 died on June 5 in his home in Hoboken, N.J.

Gosalia’s family has not given the University permission to disclose his cause of death, although it was “related to an existing medical condition,” according to Barbara Knuth, dean of the graduate school.

Knuth added that Gosalia’s cousin flew with his body to Mumbia, India, where a funeral was held.

In a statement, Knuth said Gosalia was “known for his excellent spirit and cheerful outlook.”

“Harsh was a grateful advocate of the many real friendships he had made at Cornell, the growth he had experienced and the support he felt,” Knuth said. “The loss of such a promising young Cornellian affects us all.”

Gosalia, who graduated in January, is the third recent graduate to die since the start of May. Brian Lo ’11 died in a Collegetown house fire on May 6, and Kendrick Castro ’11 died in a swimming accident in the Fall Creek Gorge on May 30.
