Former Univ. President Dale Corson Dies at 97

Former Cornell President Dale Corson died this morning at 97. As the University’s eighth president, he served from 1969 to 1977, according to the University.Corson came to Cornell in 1946 as an assistant professor in physics after working for both MIT and the Pentagon. He is also listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for discovering number 85 on the periodic table of elements, The Sun reported in 2007.Check cornellsun.com for further updates on this story.
