Joining Team Canada, four Cornellians will fight for their country’s bid to win its fourth straight gold medal in women’s ice hockey at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

The players, Rebecca Johnston ’12, Lauriane Rougeau ’13, Laura Fortino ’13 and Brianne Jenner ’14, have smashed records at both Cornell and the global stage, including the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Championships. Johnston was a member of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games team that led Canada to its third consecutive gold medal.

Rougeau and Fortino will play on defense, while Johnston and Jenner will be forwards for the team.

The games will be held in Sochi, Russia from Feb. 7 to Feb 23.
