Six postdoctorates — research assistants who have already earned their Ph.D. — will join Cornell Tech, conducting research to help launch new entrepreneurial startups, the University announced Monday.
The postdocs will participate in the campus’ first “Runway Program,” which will focus on the “commercialization of advanced research in digital technologies areas,” according to Daniel Huttenlocher, dean of Cornell Tech. He added that most postdoctoral programs, unlike Cornell Tech’s program, which will be held in the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Technion-Cornell Innovation Institute, focus on research rather than its commercialization.
