Ithaca Police Responds to Walmart Bomb Threat

Ithaca Police responded to a threat Thursday indicating the placement of a bomb in the Walmart store located at 135 Fairgrounds Memorial Parkway.

According to an Ithaca Police Department press release, officers arrived at the store at around 2:30 p.m. and searched the building with a Cornell University Police Department K9 team once the building was evacuated. Nothing “suspicious or otherwise out of the ordinary was located,” according to the release, and the Walmart store reopened around 4:30 p.m. The investigation concerning the bomb threat is currently ongoing.
