A blowout loss can either cause a team to lose hope, or it can electrify the players and bring their performances to new heights. Co-head coach of Cornell’s sprint football team, Bart Guccia, believes his team will experience the latter. Despite a big defeat against two-time defending champion Army, Coach Guccia sees strengths in his team’s performance.

“We never quit,” Coach Guccia said. “The team wasn’t dejected. [It] knew what happened. The [men] made the resolve that [they must] improve and get better and get on with Princeton.”

Army (3-0) came into the match riding a 16-game win streak and dominated Cornell (1-2) in all facets of the game. Senior captain Chris Sitko agrees with Coach Guccia and thinks it was a game that will drive the Red to work harder in the upcoming weeks.
