Representatives from both the University and Ithaca law enforcement communities discussed police race relations on campus, around the city and across the country with members of the local community at a panel discussion Monday.

The panel focused on how the Cornell University and Ithaca Police Departments can interact with communities of color, and how local police conduct fits into national themes of police racialization and militarization. CUPD Chief Kathy Zoner and IPD Chief John Barber both emphasized that their forces go through great lengths to prevent discrimination.
