At a town hall and vigil Wednesday night in remembrance of Eric Garner and Michael Brown — two black men killed by white police officers this year  — members of the Cornell community spoke about “systemic” problems of police brutality and brainstormed ways to combat instances of everyday racism.

Over 200 people attended the town hall-style discussion entitled “Ferguson: The Next Steps.” The event was co-hosted by Black Students United, the Cornell Asian Pacific Islander Student Union and La Asociacion Latina in Uris Hall.
