St. Lawrence and Quinnipiac emerged as the true winners of the weekend in the ECAC, with both teams recording a pair of commanding wins to cement their positions at No. 1 and 2 in the league standings, respectively.

Quinnipiac recorded a 3-1 victory over Cornell on Friday night before comprehensively beating Colgate, 7-3, on Saturday. The victory pushed Quinnipiac above Union in the standings, while Colgate remains mid table. St. Lawrence defeated Yale, 2-5, before going on to score two more against Brown the following day for a 7-2 victory. Junior Mike Marnell scored four goals on the night to lead St. Lawrence in the rout.

Cornell recovered from its loss to Quinnipiac to record its first home win against Princeton, despite initially falling behind by two goals. With the win, Cornell moved into fifth place in the standings, with Princeton still rooted to the bottom with only a solitary point to show for.

The Princeton Tigers were also unable to get the better of Colgate, losing, 4-3, on Friday night. Princeton had led Colgate, 2-1, going into the final period and had outshot the Raiders 50-48, but were unable to stop a late onslaught, when Colgate scored three goals to seal a comeback victory.

Yale fought back from a 1-3 deficit to tie against Clarkson, 3-3. Yale dominated the final 20 minutes to force overtime, but could not clinch the winner that would have sealed the comeback. After this tie and a 3-2 victory against Brown on Friday, Clarkson remains unbeaten in its last five matches, moving up to third with this weekend’s performance.

Outside of league play, Harvard managed to upset nationally ranked No. 3 Boston College, defeating the Eagles, 5-2, to end their 10 match unbeaten streak. Leading 2-1 after 40 minutes of play, Harvard scored three without reply to put the game beyond reach for the Eagles.

Rensselaer was soundly defeated by Ohio State, 0-4, on Friday night, but returned to lose a tighter 2-3 match on Saturday against the same opponent.

Union was not in action this weekend, last playing on Nov. 12, and will resume league play at Princeton on Dec. 2. Dartmouth, also out of action, will also return to league play on Dec. 2, with a match against Clarkson.
