The Red started Tuesday night’s contest with a 10-0 run against the Bearcats.
The Red failed to defeat its rival in the final matches, with all three of the Red’s losses in the finals coming from the hands of the Mountain Hawks.
Entering Sunday, the Red trails the Mountain Hawks by 8.5 points.
Albany’s high-powered offense will be a major concern for a Cornell squad that ranked 68th with respect to team defense last season, allowing 13.46 goals per game.
The Red ended the 2017-18 regular season with a 4-3 road loss against Union, finishing with a record of 23-4-2.
In Pepicelli’s second year as head coach, the team’s record improved by seven wins last year.
