Students called their representatives to express concerns over President Donald Trump’s recent travel ban on Muslims and threats against the EPA.
Lu, an industrial and labor relations alumna who minored in Business and East Asian Studies, called her time at Cornell a “transformative experience” and a major factor in her decision to apply for the Schwarzman Scholarship.
“As low income families watch their salary flatline, housing costs have soared,” he explained. “Between 1995 and today, median rent has increased by 70 percent and the cost of utilities has increased by 52 percent.”
“What is happening to the utility sector is so interesting and so terrifying at the same time, what needs to happen is implementing public policy in a way that is informed,” she said.
