Donald Bazley, a volunteer for the Ithaca and Tompkins County for Bernie Sanders Campaign, said he was not surprised Sanders won Tompkins County, calling the Ithaca area an “an oasis of progressive political thought.”
“Although Trump has said some things I disagree with, so has Hillary Clinton,” Corn said. “Hillary Clinton lies through her teeth, puts down women and would be a horrible representation of this country.
“So is Hillary enough to stop Trump?” he said. “I think we may be in for a surprise come November. Especially if the Bernie voters don’t show up for Hillary,” said Jake Zhu, former First Vice Chair of Cornell Republicans
When the officers arrived to the scene they found a male Cornell student who had been injured during the dispute that had just taken place on College Ave. near Myron Taylor Hall.
“A Trump victory is an embarrassment for New York State. Division is not a governing strategy. Rather, the American people should reject hate and vote for candidates who embody the best our country has to offer — not the worst.”
“I found I could care more about politics, in this election than I have before, because I understand, whoever we elect to be our next president will play a profound role in the country, and future, that my children, and all of our children, will grow up in,” Clinton said.
“While there is no doubt that Sanders has a great deal of support locally, it appears that the Cornell student body is more divided between the two candidates,” Bristow said.
“My real question for you to try to answer is, ‘Why Trump now?’ Why has such an unusual candidate come to the fore, and who are his constituents? Why did they choose to follow him, as opposed to other candidates?”
Gov. John Kasich’s (R-Ohio) home state victory will not slow Donald Trump, while Hillary Clinton cleared her path to the Democratic nomination in Tuesday’s primaries, according to Prof. Lawrence Glickman, history, and Prof. Maria Cristina Garcia, history.
