Cornell Police can now use footage captured by new security cameras in the Gothic residence halls to investigate crimes.
The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life rolled out a slate of new regulations for Greek life, which include restricting events to four days per week, requiring catering services for all alcohol served and limiting co-sponsors on approved events.
Due to investigations of misconduct, the administration has banned four Interfraternity Council chapters from recruiting new members during this semester’s rush process.
Five years ago, Collegetown Bagels began discussions with Cornell over purchasing space in Sheldon Court. Now that their current location is going to be demolished, they will enact this plan and ensure their stay next to campus.
Collegetown Bagels, the student staple eatery in Collegetown, will move across College Avenue into the Cornell-owned Sheldon Court Building at 420 College Avenue, the store announced in a press release Friday morning.
“On Broadway, someone is a triple threat if they can act, sing and dance,” said David Folkenflik ’91, a former student and longtime friend. “Isaac was probably a quadruple threat.”
Ithaca Police arrested a Cornell student for two events of forcible touching that took place on Oct. 27 in Collegetown, the IPD said in a press release.
Both events occurred just before dusk, the post said, and patrols by the sheriff’s office have increased in response. It is currently unknown if the suspect was travelling by vehicle or on foot.
Coach USA, the parent company of the Shortline bus service whose routes routinely ferry Cornell students in and out of Ithaca, sent a cease and desist letter to on-campus satire publication CU Nooz about an online piece that poked fun at fall break travel times.
Cornell and Weill have accepted charitable gifts ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars per year from organizations run by the family.
