This weekend, Cornell men’s tennis will kick-start it’s season by competing at Princeton in the Farnsworth Ivy Plus Invitational. The tournament’s format is different from regular season matches, as it is set up in an individual tournament draw with 22 teams and 128 players.

Cornell saw positive results last season against its Ivy foes, with most players reaching the top-four of their given draw.

Senior Quoc Ngyuen said, “most of us advanced to the semi-finals or better in our respective brackets.”

In addition to Cornell’s success in singles, Senior Alex Sydney and Sophomore Bernardo Casares Rosa took home a title in the “B” bracket in doubles.

According to Nguyen, the caliber of Ivy League tennis has improved dramatically over the years, and the Red is looking forward to facing some challenging competitors in powerhouses Michigan and Notre Dame.
