Rethinking the Artist’s Book: Print Text Language

Print More

By SHAY COLLINS

Prof. Elisabeth Meyer’s, art, exhibit Print Text Language, explores an oft-neglected world of books: the artistic significance of books asbooks. The exhibit’s statement states that its premise “is largely to reexamine artists’ books as conceptual projects where structure is the lesser identifier and unusual formats are emphasized.”

The books in Print Text Language are not necessarily readable, nor rectangular, nor serving as a vessel for information. Rather, the books themselves are the information.
