President David Skorton emphasized the importance of connecting Cornell with the greater local community and thanked local service clubs for their collaboration with his administration’s team in an address to the Ithaca Country Club Wednesday morning.

As the featured speaker at the annual joint service clubs meeting hosted by the Ithaca Rotary Club, Skorton spoke of what he said were the four main lessons he has learned from his time in Ithaca. All four lessons were centered around the importance of positive community relations.

“Thinking about what it is that I’ve learned in the time that I’ve been in Ithaca, I’ve been thinking about things that have made a difference in my life not only as an Ithacan, not only as someone at the University, but just as a person,” Skorton said.
