With former Governor Howard Dean (D-Vt.) and former Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) set to face off at 8 p.m. in Bailey Hall, many students are scrambling to find an elusive ticket to the event.
Tickets at the Willard Straight Hall ticket office ran out about two hours after they went on sale on Sept. 28, according to Jessica Reif ’14, chair of the Cornell Republicans. Some tickets were also distributed to student groups, she said.
However, students without tickets are still hoping to get into the event. Reif said that she has received about 300 emails from people asking for tickets. Organizers have also stated that tickets will be voided 10 minutes before the start of the debate, and at that point the event will be general admission.
Reif said she expects the two political veterans to have a frank and honest discussion of the issues.
“I tjhink they’ll have a very productive discussion,” she said. “The two have debated in the past, and they definitely have points of clash.”
