This week, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on two cases that will be significant, one way or another, in shaping our country’s approach to gay marriage. Unceasing updates have flooded online news feeds, and people across the nation have taken to the web to advocate their beliefs. Many of you have done the same.

On Tuesday, the perpetrator of one of last semester’s bias incidents — a racially-charged attack on four Cornell students in Collegetown in August — was sentenced in the Ithaca City Court to 15 days in jail. It took six months for Anthony Stephans to be brought to trial, and he will not begin serving his sentence for another two.
