The Cornell gymnastics team did not have its best score of the season on Saturday but still managed to remain competitive in the 2013 Rutgers Quad Meet. The Red’s overall team score of 191.325 was enough to edge out William and Mary (191.100) and Brockport (188.750), but not enough to top Rutgers who had a phenomenal meet and set multiple school records.

The gymnastics team prepares for what it hopes to be its best season yet. 

Randall Duchesneau ’09 was 21 years old and a member of the Cornell Gymnastics Club on Oct. 12, 2006, when his botched attempt to perform a standing backflip in the Teagle Hall Gymnasium caused permanent spinal injuries that rendered him a quadriplegic, wheelchair-bound for life.

The gymnastics team finished up the season this past weekend at the Collegiate National Championships. Although the team did not qualify, as individuals, the gymnasts worked on their routines and added difficulty, to make it a fun and worthwhile trip. 

Twelve of Cornell's gymnasts will compete at Nationals this weekend.

The gymnastics team settled for a fourth place finish at the ECAC championships; however, sophomore Melanie Standridge earned an ECAC title for her first place finish on beam.

The Red hits the road this weekend to face Brown in a dual meet. 

Seeking to continue the gymnastics two-for-one special (à la Molly Parker '10 and Jill Dean '10), 10 Questions columnist Alex Kuczynski-Brown ’12 interviewed Kaitlin Hardy ’12 and her minion/protegee, Ashley Maher ’13.

The gymnastics team placed third at Towson over the weekend, scoring a 189.1.
