Provoking skepticism, frustration and even “jaydancing” among students, the Cornell University Police Department issued 94 tickets during its annual roadway safety campaign last week — down from 143 tickets last year.
CUPD issued 143 tickets to jaywalkers over the course of two days as part of a jaywalking crackdown. The crackdown, however, will have little long-term effect on jaywalking on campus and only fostered animosity between Cornell police and individuals on campus.
