Sometimes the truth can be dressed up by cute sayings and flowery adjectives. And sometimes, it’s just more powerful to state the facts as they stand. In a historic weekend for the wrestling program, Cornell’s wrestlers picked up an individual title, as well as second, third and fourth places en route to finishing second in the NCAA tournament, behind powerful Iowa. Stated simply, the Red wrestling team gave its all in Omaha, and the results speak for themselves. The Red, which entered the championships ranked third in the country, earned its highest NCAA finish in school history.

Dake hopes to be able to take down Dalton Jensen, Iowa State sophomore at rank No. 13 during the match.With several compelling wins and close losses behind it, the wrestling team will face one of its most formidable opponents –– No. 2 Iowa State –– this Sunday. The two teams will meet at 1 p.m. in Bartels Hall before what is sure to be a packed crowd. The match will be especially important to the Red, as proceeds from fundraising initiatives will go toward the Adam Frey Foundation in memory of the former Cornell wrestler. Frey passed away at 24 on Dec. 26 after a two-year battle with cancer.
