The Farmers’ Market at Cornell ended a successful season last week, as students, faculty, staff and local vendors gathered on the Ag Quad to learn about local food, buy fresh goods and listen to live music. Organizers of the market said they saw an increase in sales this season compared to last year.

Boasting a diverse menu of local and organic ingredients, AGAVA, a Southwest cuisine-inspired restaurant, opened Wednesday at East Hill Plaza. The venture is the product of more than a year of work by Collegetown Bagels and Ithaca Bakery owner Gregar Brous.

Cornell's first-ever farmers' market will open on Thursday.

“The future of eating food will be delicious,” announced Dan Barber, a world-renowned chef and owner of the Blue Hill Restaurants in Westchester County and Manhattan.  Barber gave a lecture, “Cultivating Flavor- a Recipe for the Recipe” at Call Auditorium on Monday.
