The tech campus' beta class presented projects ranging from technology allowing children to create their own interactive stories to software creating office hours for massive open online classes to the public last week.

Cornell’s New York City tech campus has named Prof. Rajit Manohar, electrical and computer engineering, its associate dean for academic affairs.

The New York City Economic Development Corporation will host a “NYC Tech Talent Draft” at several universities, including Cornell, later this month.

The city is currently conducting a review of Roosevelt Island to determine whether there will be adequate transportation to and from the campus.

Deborah Estrin’s resume reads like the perfect addition to a multibillion dollar project that many hope will transform New York City into a hub of technological innovation and entrepreneurship. Estrin, the first professor hired to teach at CornellNYC Tech, will put that resume to work when the first degree program launches in January.

CornellNYC Tech is now accepting applications for its first class of full-time students, the University announced Wednesday.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced a partnership Monday with New York University and the Polytechnic Institute of New York to construct a 460,000 square foot applied science research institute in downtown Brooklyn. 

With several notable projects already under his belt, Andrew C. Winters, founding director of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Office of Capital Project Development, will lead the development of Cornell’s New York City tech campus, the University announced Thursday.
