Police Identify Woman Found Dead in Gorge

The Ithaca Police Department said yesterday that the woman who died by falling into Cascadilla Gorge Thursday was Laurie B. Hickey, a 36-year-old woman from Auburn.
Witnesses told the IPD that they saw a woman climb onto the railing of the bridge and fall into the water below around 8 p.m. Thursday.
Hickey was pronounced dead at the scene, and her body was removed from the gorge.
The investigation is continuing, but the police said they do not suspect foul play.
