• If you’ve skipped your last few trips to the gym, the only way to make up for lost work out time is by doing the twist. That’s right, Chubby Checker is coming to the Magic City Music Hall, located at 365 Harry L Dr. in Johnson City, near Binghamton. The doors open at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and the twisting starts at 8 p.m.
• It’s common sense that anyone who uses just the first letter of his last name as part of their stage name is cooler than anyone foolish enough to use his full name. Thus, going to see comedian Scotty K in Rochester this weekend is a must. Mr. K will be stirring up laughter starting at 10:45 on Saturday night, at Comix Café, located at 3450 Winton Place.
• Brian Dykstra’s new drama Strangerhorse opens this weekend at The Kitchen Theater, located at 116 N. Cayuga Street in downtown Ithaca.
