• If you think you’re too old to go trick-or-treating, perhaps you can find another way to celebrate Halloween this year. The Nextage at Geva Theatre Center, located at 75 Woodbury Blvd. in Rochester, is the place to be for those who are ready to move past big bags of candy. Tomorrow night at 10:30, Geva Comedy Improv will be performing its “Improv Slasher Movie.” Just make sure you don’t sit in the first three rows of the theater, which will be designated the “Splash Zone.”

• Are you tired of going to the movie theater, seeing one film and leaving unsatisfied? Well, then, this weekend, head over to the Palace Theater located at 2384 James St. in Syracuse for The 8th Annual B-Movie Film Festival. The festival, featuring three local pieces, includes 12 features, 20 short films and five documentaries. Showings start at 7 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

• SUNY Oswego’s Arena and Convocation Hall play host to a night of laughs tomorrow at 7 p.m. Comedian Tony Roberts is best known for his affiliation with HBO’s Def Comedy Jam. The show features Jamie Kennedy who has played major and minor roles in films such as Malibu’s Most Wanted, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and all three Scream movies.

• If you want to hear some poetry or even recite some of your own, then head down to the Community School of Music and Arts this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The School, located at 330 E. State St. in Ithaca, is hosting Ithaca Community Poets. Bridget Meeds and Roni Fuller will be sharing their poetry before the floor opens up to everyone else. Additionally, the Community School of Music and Arts warns that the performance may not be suitable for children under 15.
