• Ska-reggae group One Night Band, punk-ska band The Flatliners and ska-rockers The Robo-Buddies will be performing at 727 S. Crouse St. in Syracuse this Sunday. Three bands in one night — what’s the catch? The catch is that you have to try to convince your friends to go to a place called Funk n’ waffles. The concert starts at 6 p.m. on Sunday, and with three bands in once place, be ready for anything. The ska is the limit.

• Music lovers can choose from a group of one-person recitals this weekend at Ithaca College. Tomorrow, juniors Laura Intravia and Stephanie Chambers will be singing in Ford Hall at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively. Seniors Natalie Andreoli, voice, and Natasha Colkett, violin, will be performing in Hockett Family Recital Hall at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively. All performances are sponsored by IC’s School of Music.

• There’s nothing to get your juices flowing like some competitive poetry. Tonight at 7:30 p.m., poetry fans can enjoy a range of originals and classics, in the comfort of a cozy café-style setting. Poets can go head-to-head for prizes or just share for the fun of it. “Stand Up Poetry” takes place at the Town Hall Theater on Main St. in Bainbridge, which is between Cortland and Oneonta.

• Prof. Julieve Jubin and the students in her studio practicum course at SUNY Oswego present “Ready!: An Exhibition to Bridge a Community.” Students’ drawings, paintings, photographs and other media will be on display. The exhibition, which is at Oswego State Downtown, is located on 186 W. First St. and is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow.
