• Andrew McMahon, vocalist and pianist for Something Corporate, brings his side project, Jacks Mannequin to Rochester Institute of Technology’s Gordon Fieldhouse tonight. This piano rock band from Orange County will be ready to roll beginning at 8 p.m. If you are looking to have a good time tonight, put this on your schedule.

• This Saturday, head on over to the Onondaga Historical Association Museum, located at 321 Montgomery St. in Syracuse. The Exploring History with Art exhibit shows the changes in local transportation over the last two centuries. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., museum patrons can please their minds and their eyes with this artistic history lesson.

• The saying “those who can’t do, teach” does not apply to Ithaca College’s Jennifer Hayghe. Not only does she teach music, but she also plays it. Hayghe, an assistant professor in Ithaca’s School of Music, will be performing a piano recital this Sunday at 4 p.m. in I.C.’s Hockett Family Recital Hall. Hayghe certainly prooves that doing and teaching are not mutually exclusive.

• Grace Episcopal Church, located at 13 Court Street in Cortland, will host the Young Artists’ Showcase this Sunday. Take this opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the artists who will likely fill your headphones, concert halls and radios Students from all over Central New York with hopes of careers in musical performance will be showing their stuff. Check out the future of music, starting at 4 p.m.
