Arts Events Around the Ivies:

• This weekend, you have not just one, not two, but three chances to see Harvard’s “CityStep's Live at 25!” dance show. CityStep is an organization that provides creative expression activities for Cambridge’s youth. The show’s dances will be choreographed and performed by the kids in the CityStep program. Come watch and listen to Cambridge’s finest on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and later that night at 7 p.m.

• Now that temperatures are breaking into the high 30s and even the 40s, I bet everybody’s craving a nice, relaxing outdoor concert. This Saturday, Brown is hosting Tato Torres & Yerbabuena for a night of Havana-Night themed festivities. There will be food, music and performances from 9:30 p.m. to midnight. Enjoy the outdoors now, before Ithaca decides to go below 20 degrees again.

• Are you going to the Subway Series this weekend? That’s right, the first installment of Columbia and NYU’s “Piano Subway Series Concerts” is happening this Sunday at the Italian Academy, located at 1161 Amsterdam Avenue. The series includes one concert each at Columbia and NYU, where musicians from the two schools will go head to head — more like piano to piano — to prove once and for all which is better, uptown or downtown. The battle begins at 8 p.m. Let’s just hope it doesn’t turn into a brawl.

• Four time Grammy-nominated West African musician Angélique Kidjo will stop by Penn’s Annenberg Center this Sunday. Kidjo’s music is about as diverse as it gets. Her music draws from Caribbean, Jazz, Gospel and Caribbean styles, and grew up listening to James Brown, Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Arts Events Around Upstate New York:

• This weekend, take some time to check out “Ice Cream: Our Cool Obsession,” one of the current exhibits at the Farmer’s Museum in Cooperstown. Not only does the exhibition have artifacts from ice cream’s history, such as Ben and Jerry’s original freezer, but there is a retro-style ice cream parlor where museum patrons can sit and enjoy something to eat — just in case you think the stuff in Ben and Jerry’s old freezer might have gone bad by now. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Tower of Power and Average White Band join forces in Syracuse tonight for an evening of funk and soul. The Turning Stone Resort and Casino’s Events Center will be the venue for collaboration from the 60s and 70s. Tower of Power and Average White Band, with rosters of 10 and seven members respectively, should provide enough music to hold you over for a while. The funk starts at 8 p.m.

• New Orleans born and bred hip hop artist Lil’ Wayne hits Rochester’s Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial this weekend. With several albums and mixtapes flooding the streets right now, as well as a handful coming out in the next year or so, Lil’ Wayne is always on the grind. Tonight’s show starts at 7:30 p.m.

• Old Times is in the middle of its run at Ithaca’s Kitchen Theatre this weekend. The play, which tells the story of old friends whose night of reminiscing turns into a struggle to remember the truth about the past, should be interesting as so many of us can relate to such memory problems. There are shows on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. Try to catch at least one.
