So why are you here [in Libe Café] socializing when everyone else here is working?

That’s a good question. It’s because I spend a significant amount of my time in Olin studying so I like to mix it up with some Libe Café time. It’s a good pit stop especially in this weather. I like to get my dose of coffee here, too.

How many cups of coffee do you a drink a day?

[Silence] I’m counting. … I’m going to go ahead and say three on a good day.

Since you study international relations, do you plan to do a study abroad?

I was abroad in China for the first semester and the numbers on my credit card got compromised. Someone in China, [some] man stole my numbers. Also, I’ve been to India a bunch of times … probably about once every two years.

So, as an Indian-American, is your nose ring a cultural or personal choice?

It’s a little bit of both. I got it done in India [when] I was 17. My mom has it and my grandma has it, so I sorta just did it.

Did you grow up in India?

No, I grew up in Suffern, N.Y. … born and raised in Suffern. As a Suffern resident, I would like to clarify that the Sex and the City episode that used Suffern, N.Y. was factually incorrect. Being from Suffern, I can say that isn’t what it is like.
