Men's hockey 3, Boston University 3
On the biggest stage in New York City, the men's hockey team battled Boston University to a 3-3 tie after giving up two third-period goals. Sophomore defenseman Sean Whitney scored a goal and tallied an assist; senior defenseman Brendon Nash had two assists.
Senior Blake Gallagher scored what looked to be the game-winner on a backdoor power-play goal in the second period. The Red clung to its lead, but with 51 seconds remaining in regulation, BU scored a 6-on-4 goal to knot it up at 3.
Neither team could get much going in overtime. Junior Joe Devin took a shot that ricocheted off the post and BU put some traffic in front of Cornell's net, but time expired with neither team breaking through, sending home unsatisfied the sold-out crowd of 18,200.
