Local grocery vendor Wilson Farms was the subject of an attempted robbery Sunday night, at approximately 10:49 p.m., the Ithaca Police Department said yesterday.

The IPD reported that the suspect wore a plastic bag over his head, informed an employee that he was performing a hold up, and claimed he had a gun. No weapon was revealed, however, and the man fled the store without obtaining and money or other property.

The suspect is described as a white male with dark brown hair, 20 to 30 years of age and about five–and-a-half feet tall. He was dressed in blue jeans and a blue shirt.

Although the police department refused to elaborate beyond their press release, they urged anyone who has any information regarding this incident to contact them.

Employees working at Wilson Farms yesterday deferred questions to their corporate headquarters which did not return request for comment.
