Wittman Named Ivy Player of the Year; Foote, Dale Earn First-Team Selections

Now that the 2009-10 Ivy League season has come to a close, the time for awarding individual accolades has arrived. Senior forward Ryan Wittman was officially named Ivy League Player of the Year in a unanimous selection, while senior tri-captain Jeff Foote also received honors as the league’s best defensive player. Senior guard Louis Dale joined his teammates on the First-team All-Ivy squad, and sophomore guard Chris Wroblewski nabbed an honorable mention. Read More

I’ll be the first to admit, my talents in life are few and far between. However, one skill I seem to have mastered over the years, is an uncanny ability to make a drinking game out of just about anything. And yes, my parents are very proud.

That said, I present to you the March Madness Drinking Game: 2010 edition. Keep in mind, it’s not so much designed to be played during the tournament (call me naïve, but I have a sneaky feeling we’re gonna wanna be sober for the opening round this year), as it is intended as a sort of pre-game festivity that will invoke memories of the 2009-10 season while celebrating some key moments in particular. Women’s Lacrosse Nets 14th Straight Win Over Lions

The weather in Ithaca cooperated just in time for the start of Ivy League competition on Cornell’s turf.  In its first conference game of the season, yesterday afternoon at Schoellkopf Field, the women’s lacrosse team (2-2, 1-0 Ivy) defeated Columbia (2-1, 0-1 Ivy), 9-7, with the help of a six-goal outburst from sophomore attacker Jessi Steinberg.  
The 14th straight victory over Columbia added to Cornell’s winning history against one of its toughest Ivy foes.  While the final numbers of the mid-week Ivy opener seemed to indicate a close game, the Red was confident in its ability to pull out the win from the get-go.  Cornell silenced Columbia’s roar with a three-goal run in the second stanza to ensure that the Red came away with the victory.
